The 2025 Raymond Hospital Auxiliary Annual Spring Luncheon will be held on April 11 at the Raymond Ag. Society yellow building, with doors opening at 10 a.m.

Donna Coppieters, second vice-president of the Raymond Hospital Auxiliary Executive Committee, says that the event is open to the public, free to gain entry to, and will include a lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., that will include a choice of four homemade soups, two sandwiches, desserts and drink for $5, a baked goods table, and a sewing goods table, and a raffle for gift cards for $600 and $400 gift cards to Raymond Mercantile. Ticket sales for the raffle, which will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, are still underway, says and tickets are $5.

Beverly Popowich, President of the Raymond Hospital Auxiliary’s Executive Committee says that any baked goods left at the end of the sale will be taken to the local food bank in Raymond.

“This event is our major event of the year,” said Popowich. “The community support we have here is just so fabulous.”

Proceeds from this event, Coppieters says, will go towards the Auxiliary’s efforts of supporting patient care. The Raymond Health Centre is currently undergoing renovations to expand the emergency department due to being ‘the busiest rural emergency room in Alberta’ and at the moment, the Raymond Hospital Auxiliary has raised $88,000 for a portable x-ray machine and are working on raising $68,000 for a larger ultrasound machine.

Coppieters also feels ‘awesome’ about being involved in the work that the Raymond Hospital Auxiliary does, which includes this event, stating that the organization buys thousands of dollars worth of supplies every year for the hospital.

“Everybody’s welcome to come,” said Coppieters. “Come and support our hospital auxiliary. Our hospital gets used by a very wide area.”

Coppieters says that those who want more information on the event can contact Bev at 403-308-2117 or Donna at 403-752-4957.

In addition to that, Popowich says, the Raymond Hospital Auxiliary could use more volunteers and people who want to join can simply show up at the meetings, which are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 2 p.m. at the Ag Society’s Red Barn in Raymond.
