Stirling Community Centre will play host to a free Women’s Wellness Day event from 6 to 9 p.m. on Nov. 2.
Stacey Maynes, Family Support Worker with Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) describes the event as ‘an evening of rest and renewal’ that will be led by Sound Healing Practitioners and Musicians Parya and Mike, dedicated sound healing practitioners who create immersive experiences through the transformative power of sacred instruments and vibrational frequencies.
The event, Maynes explained, will include a Sound Bath, cozy soups, a make and take opportunity, a presentation on facing the winter blues and the power of gratitude that will feature gratitude journals, socializing and games.
The event is free for people to attend, but people should bring a yoga mat or thick exercise mat, a cozy blanket and small pillow, comfortable, layered clothing, and water bottle.
The event, Maynes continued, is being hosted because she is a trainer community animator who, with the assistance of a fellow animator, applied and secured a Rural Mental Health grant. This event, Maynes says, is specifically for women in the Stirling community and is the 4th wellness event that has been hosted.
