On Monday, Glen Motz, MP for the Medicine Hat-Cardston-Warner riding, along with representatives from the Town of Raymond, Village of Stirling, and County of Warner, will be hosting a Town Hall from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Raymond Broadway Theatre, located at 15 Broadway South.
“The town halls are a way to connect with community,” said MP Motz. “We’re there to listen to constituents, answer their many questions, demonstrate that to be effective, all levels of government work together and we do that. It’s important that they see it here and they can get questions answered.”
MP Motz emphasizes that anytime multiple levels of government get together to interact with the community, it’s always a good thing.
“I always appreciate hearing perspectives from other folks,” said MP Motz. “It’s always a learning process as well depending on what the issues are, but you get some things fixed. Some people have specific issues that they need some assistance with. It’s great communication; it’s great connection. We’re here to serve the people that we’re elected to serve. That’s what it’s all about. It’s about you. You can’t serve people in isolation. You have to hear what’s going on and address their concerns.”
Experience, Motz says, has shown that the Town Hall events that he has been involved with in the past have been widely appreciated by people.
“It’s been amazing,” said Motz. “It really is amazing. People are engaged and have specific questions or concerns and it’s an opportunity to connect with your elected officials. It’s great that way, and plus, it’s a way to meet some folks. I really enjoy connecting with people.”
MP Motz encourages those who are in the area to attend the Town Hall, meet their elected representatives and have their questions answered, as it’s always a great opportunity to share information and learn from others.
