Registration for the 2024-25 Early Learning Program offered by Magrath Elementary School opened on March 4.
“The program is social skill development, executive functioning skills and language learning,” said Sabrina Weller, Early Learning Program Teacher at Magrath Elementary School. “We can also access Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech if needed.”
The program, Weller says, starts in September and goes on until the beginning of June and was started to help students who were struggling with speaking or other growth milestones.
“Our program is play based,” said Weller. “We do free play, carpet time, books, snacks, gym time and music. It is centered around the students’ needs.”
Weller says that those who are interested in getting involved in the program need to contact Magrath Elementary School and come meet the school’s amazing Speech Language assistant. From there, the school will do a free screening and discuss the program, and if it is a good fit for a child.
“Anyone is welcome to come for a free screening,” said Weller. “We like to fill the class with the students that need support first. If we still have room, we invite other children that are on our waiting list. The ages are 2 years 8 months to over four years old.”

“We are always trying to meet the needs of all our students at Magrath Elementary School,” said Weller. “We work very closely with our families.”
