The public launch of the rebranding of SASH: Disability Support Services began on Friday, July 18.

SASH Disability Support Services Office/Social Media Specialist Carma Leishman says that SASH Disability Support Services is located in Magrath and offers many ways to access government-funded supports through the Government of Alberta’s Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) program.

“The reason for the rebrand is twofold,” said Leishman. “First, we wanted to update the SASH logo to better reflect our focus on supporting individuals and creating change. The image attached to the new SASH logo has deeper meaning and really reflects our fundamental purpose of promoting and supporting growth and connections. Second, our intention is to add clarity to separately define the businesses supported by SASH and to allow them their own branding and communication channels. We want our audience to understand that SASH is connected to these businesses and operates them to create learning and connection opportunities for the individuals SASH serves, but these businesses are separate from SASH itself.”

The rebrand, Leishman says, has been in the works for well over a year.

“The rebrand is happening through countless hours of work put in by the SASH administrative and management personnel,” said Leishman. “Last year, a new part-time position was created to focus on marketing and media, and this rebrand is the result of the analysis and design work created and brought to light with the help of many people on the SASH team. We have done a lot of preparation to create separate, yet connected, identities for all of the SASH-powered businesses and have put a lot of thought into what we want our messaging to be. Our hope is to inspire people with the message of what we do and the amazing people we serve and motivate them to share our story and support our cause.”

Everyone, Leishman says, can help make a difference through monetary donations to SASH’s programs, food donations to the Community Food Pantry, bottle donations to the Magrath Bottle Depot, and by supporting any of the organization’s businesses – especially the new Cravings: Take-Out & Catering. SASH, Leishman says, is particularly excited for the rebrand of the SASH Pizza Kitchen, now known as Cravings: Take-Out & Catering.  Leishman says to inspire people to try the new menu, they will be offering a 10 per cent discount the week of July 28 to August 2.

“Support from the community is vital to keep our programs running,” said Leishman. “Everyone at SASH is feeling the energy and anticipation of the rebrand.  The new visuals were introduced internally first, so we are all feeling excited and proud to share them with the world.”
