During the Town of Raymond Council meeting on August 5, Administration approached Council and initiated a discussion about road naming along Highway 845.
“We’ve got some discrepancies about what we call this locally,” said Administration. “We know that it’s Highway 845 provincially, but locally, we have combinations of 350 East and 400 East.”
Administration stated to Council that they were looking for a motion so that the highway could officially be called 400 East locally and also mentioned that the alteration will require changes to a couple of addresses that are along that road, but it appears to be the best route to take in regards to the road naming.
Mayor Depew affirmed that Council takes the recommendation for the road naming ‘seriously’ and invited a motion to be made on the subject.
Councillor Jensen subsequently made a motion that Council name Highway 845 400 East for the purpose of providing proper addresses to properties in that area, and the motion was carried.
