The wins just keep on coming for the Raymond Comets.

Last week, the high school juggernaut won its sixth straight contest, this time in the form of a 56-9 win over Lethbridge’s Chinook High School Coyotes.

Raymond ran its record to 6-1, and with that, the Comets still sit in the No. 2 spot in the Football Alberta 5A rankings.

The Harry Ainlay Titans hold the No. 1 ranking, as the Edmonton powerhouse is now 7-0 after a 35-6 win over Spruce Grove.

It has been an impressive stretch for the Comets, as Raymond has taken down a number of 5A and 4A contenders in the last six weeks. Chinook, for its part, is now ranked No. 5 in 4A with a 3-2 record.

Raymond has wins over the current No. 4 in 4A, Holy Trinity, along with the current No. 2 outfit, George McDougall.

This week, Raymond was set to face the No. 4 ranked 4A team in Alberta, Catholic Central. The Lethbridge team is 6-1 on the season, with the only loss on its record a 54-0 defeat at the hands of the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Rams.

However, with high school sports currently on hold, the Comets will not be in action this week.

If the season does resume later this month, Raymond will look to maintain its No. 2 ranking in 5A, with the Notre Dame Pride in hot pursuit with a 4-0-1 record, good enough for the No. 3 ranking.

The Ernest Manning Griffins at No. 4 with a 4-2 record, and a 32-0 victory over St. Francis as that team’s most recent game.

LCI is also 4-2, as the Rams sit in the No. 5 spot in the rankings.Salisbury (4-2), St. Franics (5-1), Notre Dame Cougars (6-1), Bowness Trojans (3-1) and the Jasper Place Rebels (3-4) round out the top 10.
