RES raises over $700 for Lethbridge hospital

Posted on May 8, 2014 by Westwind Weekly

The culmination of the inaugural “One School, One Book” project at Raymond Elementary School was celebrated last month with school-wide reading activities for students, families and staff to enjoy.

Over $700 was raised for the Lethbridge Regional Hospital, in addition to the many non-perishable food items students gathered for the Interfaith Food Bank.

“Proceeds from your gift have been donated towards the greatest needs of the Pediatric Department here at the hospital,” said Jason VandenHoek executive director for the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation. “Donations such as yours support medical advancements within the Chinook Regional Hospital and community health services . . . this support will go to any area of need in the hospital, but specifically toward state-of-the-art medical equipment, vital programs and special projects.”

VandenHoek went on to say the purpose of the foundation is to distribute, raise and receive funds for improvements to health programs, patient services and equipment in the community.

A short survey is also being featured on the school website at: http://www.raymondelementary.com/s/N928TNW. Input from parents would go a long way to helping the staff plan for next year’s event.

Those who wish to participate in the survey need to do so before the deadline on May 15.
