The following are selected briefs from the Oct. 4 Village of Stirling organizational meeting.
Items for Discussion:
The Village of Stirling reviewed their Corporate Handbook and Pecuniary Interest Handbook. After reviewing both hand outs, council accepted them as information. Trevor Lewington was additionally re-appointed as the Mayor of Stirling, while Larry Nilsson was appointed as the Deputy Mayor.
The meeting times for council were discussed, and it was decided that Stirling would hold their meetings on the first and the third Wednesdays of the month beginning at 7:00 P.M.. The Municipal Planning Commission will hold their meetings as required on the first Wednesday of each month beginning at 6:00 P.M. and the Committee of the Whole will meet on the third Wednesday of each month beginning at 6:00 P.M..
For the Assessment Review Board the Oldman River Regional Services Commission was appointed, for the Municipal Planning Commission Coun. Gary Bikman, Coun. Devynn Bohn, Coun. Matthew Foss, Lewington and Nilsson were appointed.
The Emergency Management Committee will feature the County of Warner Regional Emergency Partnership with Lewington, the Intermunicipal Collaboration Framework will see Bohn and Foss sitting and for Westwind School Division, Bikman and Nilsson were appointed.
Bohn and Bikman were appointed to the Community Events Committee alongside some community members. Bikman will additionally sit on the Municipal Library Board with members of the public and both Bohn and Bikman will sit on the Tourism and Economic Development Committee.
