Lori Rolfe, Chief Administrative Officer for the Village of Coutts, says that 2023 was a good year for the Village.
Coutts, Rolfe says, maintained its usual services: curbside garbage pickup and weekly yard waste pick up through the spring and summer.
In addition to that, Rolfe says, Coutts received money for needed infrastructure and some operating, including the sand sealing and sidewalk replacement funding that is provided for under grants. More sidewalks will be replaced this year, Rolfe says.
Rolfe says that Coutts is mostly back to the close-knit community that it was before COVID, not only in terms of infrastructure but in all the usual services they maintain, and they also have many recreation opportunities for residents such as a spray park, ball diamonds, tennis, pickle ball/basketball courts, and two playgrounds.
The highlight of the year, Rolfe says, was the 2023 Annual Coutts Day Celebration, combined with the Coutts Grass Rodeo, as it was a big success with lots of participants and spectators.
Another good thing about Coutts, Rolfe says, is Council and their goals.
“We have a council that is always willing to speak with residents,” said Rolfe. “Goals are to stay within budget and keep maintaining our current infrastructure with any necessary upgrades as they are needed. We will continue to keep Coutts a great place for people to live.”
