The first-ever Milk River and District Ag Society Collectables, Antiques, and Vintage Items Sale will take place on June 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Milk River Civic Centre, which is located at 321 3rd Avenue North East.
“This is the first one we’ve ever tried doing and we actually had people reach out to us asking if we would do one and they’re actually some of the vendors that are coming,” said Laurie Balog, President of the Milk River and District Ag Society. “We really don’t have any in the area, so we thought it’d be something to try.”
Balog says that among the items being sold is a hockey card collection and NASCAR collectibles.
In conjunction with the sale, Balog says, Milk River is also holding a community garage sale at the same time to try and bring more people to town.
“We just thought collectors, the same type, might also be interested in stopping in on a few garage sales,” said Balog. “Along with the collectibles, we’re doing a map that has community garage sale.”
Balog says that those who are interested in participating in either event can contact Jera at 403-393-8542 or mrdagsociety@outlook.com.
“Our mandate is to build community, so everything we do is associated with that,” said Balog. “We always hope that whatever we’re doing is building family and a stronger community.”
