Magrath and Raymond teams full speed ahead in CAHL play

Central Alberta Hockey League action is heating up as the schedule continues into mid-January.

For the Raymond U11 squad, last weekend included a 7-1 loss on Friday to Brooks and an 11-4 setback a day later to the same team.

Friday’s game had John Baldry score the lone goal, while Jordan Schmidt made 29 saves in goal.

On Saturday, Kake Walburger and Beckett Holt both scored twice, while Mark Chipman, Brixden Manning and Jesse Wilde picked up assists. Greyson Court made 29 saves for Raymond.

Magrath’s U11 team picked up a 7-6 win on Sunday over Foothills, as Cody Beier scored three times to lead the way. Weston Odland had a goal and an assist and Tymen Allsop, Kacey Blackmore and Liam Standford all scored one goal each. Raylan Owens was in net, and made 24 stops.

In U13 play, Magrath was not in action on the weekend. The team will hit the ice Saturday for a 1:45 p.m. home game against Taber.

At the U15 level, Magrath pounded Lethbridge 7-0 in a Friday contest. Three players – Colton Olson, Tason Heath and Easter Fraser, all had two goals and one assist each to lead the way. Bronson Ripley had a goal and two assists. Erik Quapp picked up two helpers and Hayes Hill added one assist. Nate Nelson recorded the shutout in goal.

The Magrath U18 team played twice on the weekend, which kicked off Friday with a 7-1 win over Foremost. Logan Jensen and Rigin Smith both scored twice, while Cruz Johnson had a goal and an assist. Ty Godlonton and Beau Beier added singles, while Ethan Henderickson, Adam Chipman, Knox Tame and Cooper Godlonton all had one assist each. Conner Schneyder made 23 saves for Magrath.

On Saturday, Magrath and Pincher Creek battled to a 4-4 draw. Makoy Mehew had a goal and an assist and Jensen picked up two assists to pace the offence. Hendrickson, Smith and Ross Ravoy had single markers for Magrath, while Tame added an assist. Schneyder made 19 saves in goal.
