St. Mary River high flow advisory

Posted on June 4, 2026 by admin

Cardston County

Alberta Environment has advised that the St. Mary River is currently running at a high level and is quite full.

While the river is not flooding and has not overtaken its banks, residents and visitors are encouraged to exercise caution when near the water.

Fast-moving currents, unstable banks, and cold water conditions can create hazardous situations, especially for children, pets, and recreational users. Please stay alert and use extra care around the river and surrounding areas.
