Raiders secure one tie, one win after two-week sabbatical

After two weeks off, the Raymond Atom Ice Raiders came back well rested and ready to play hockey.

The Lethbridge Warriors, current PeeWee B Spud League leaders, came to town Friday night. The Raiders played strong, never giving up as the score went back and forth throughout the game which ended in a 7 to 7 tie.

Raymond’s points went to Daxon Helgerson (2, 1 assist), Reuben Baldry (2), Bella Zaremba (2), and Rylen Roersma (1, 2 assists), assists also went to Janx Zaremba (4), Shelbi Charlton (1).

Saturday, in Picture Butte, the Raiders were in a tough spot after the first period with Picture Butte leading 4 to 0.

The coaches gave a quick pep talk and the Raiders came out on fire, scoring six goals in the second-period and four in the third-period, also shutting down Butte’s scoring.

The Raiders chalked up a 10 to 4 win

“The team looked great this weekend,” said Coach Duke. “They were following our systems and playing as a single unit.”

Raymond’s goals went to Janx Zaremba (4), Rylen Roersma (3), Reuben Baldry (2), Daxon Helgerson (1, 2 assists) and Shelbi Charlton with four assists.
