With December near its end, the Raymond Knights have completed the first half of the Central Alberta Hockey League season as they were all in action this past weekend.
U11
The U11 Knights had a pair of games this past weekend before the Christmas break took effect.
On Saturday, the team hit the road as they took on Bow Island/Foremost. After a back and forth game, the teams finished the game in a 6-6 deadlock. Jaxton Rodeback had an impressive game as he potted a hat trick while Dax Hill, Trigger Heggie, and Ronald James Moline had singles and Lane Smith had an assist. Drew Tame made 33 stops between the pipes.
Their final game of 2021 saw the team hit the road to Irvine and the Knights took care of business as they secured a 5-3 win. Rodeback continued his hot streak as he collected two goals and an assist, Hill potted two goals while Drew Tame had the other Knight goal. Heggie found the score sheet with a pair of assists and Maysen Span had a single. Kalani Purcell got the start in the Knights’ net and turned away 27 shots.
When the Christmas break ceases, the U11 Knights will welcome Picture Butte into Raymond on Jan. 7 before hitting the road to Coaldale on Jan. 9.
U13
Two games remained in 2021 for the U13 Knights as they had a pair of road games to close out their first half of the season.
On Dec. 18, the team was in Foremost to take on Bow Island/Foremost and the Knights won in a convincing 11-4 victory. Bronx Hill found the back of the net five times and had two assists, Lilly Rodeback had a hat trick and a pair of assists, Nixon Roe had a single goal and two assists, Hayes Hill and Ryder Harrison had a single snipe each, and Kaiden Kado, Ryland Span, and Miles Smith all found the score sheet with an assist. Nate Nelson got the start in net and made 30 stops.
The following day, the Knights saw a much closer game as they made their way to Picture Butte that resulted in a 6-4 win for the Blades. Span had a pair of goals for the Knights while Hayes Hill had a goal and an assist, and Bronx Hill had one goal. Nelson once again got the start between the pipes and turned away 36 of 42 shots.
When January rolls around, the U13 Knights will hit the ice on Jan. 8 when they welcome in the Magrath Chiefs.
U18
In the final game of 2021, the U18 Knights fell to Bassano on the road 5-3. Grady Vandenhoek had two goals and an assist, Brody Smith had a goal and two assists, and Cohen Fraser had a single assist. Tyler Creed was between the pipes and made 33 saves in the loss.
The U18 Knights have several weeks off and will return to the ice on Jan. 15 when they welcome in the Taber Oil Kings.
