Crowsnest Pass RCMP have reported an avalanche in southeastern Alberta has resulted in the death of a Magrath man.

Detachment members, along with officers from Pincher Creek, were called to an avalanche around 5:52 p.m. on Saturday, February 24.

It occurred between Castle Mountain Ski Resort and Carbondale Hill, north of the resort.

At approximately 1:00 p.m., RCMP said two adults and two children were snowmobiling in the backcountry when a snow slide occurred.
