Family and Community Support Services’ 2024 Clothing and Toy Fest will take place on Wednesday, October 2 from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at the Stirling Community Centre, located at 409 2nd Street in Stirling.
“Family and Community Support Services has offered Clothing and Toy Fests across our service area for many years,” said Stacey Maynes, Family Support Worker for FCSS. “It’s a great way for the community to donate their old items and then “shop” for clothes and toys that are new to them at no charge.”
Maynes says that the event is free and open to everyone in the community with all items being generously donated by the community. Volunteers, Maynes says, also help with making sure items are sorted and ready for October 2nd.
Individuals interested in donating to the Clothing and Toy Fest, Maynes says, can donate items beginning September 4th, 2024, and can drop off items at the front doors of the Community Centre.
“The Clothing and Toy Fest is a great way to support the community by giving residents a place to donate their items as well as a place to get ‘new’ items,” said Petra Debow, FCSS manager. “It not only saves families money, but it also saves items from ending up in the landfill.”
