Reader disputes government failed to consult on health transition

Posted on July 2, 2026 by admin

I would like to respond to the article where HSAA (Health Sciences Association of Alberta) said the Alberta Government failed to consult with members. I participated in three local round table talks on the transitioning of Alberta Health structures. The government made every effort to consult but it was up to people to attend. In Taber, I was the only person who showed up. Think about that! A city the size of Taber and only one person showed up. I don’t even live in Taber.

I think it is past time to put the blame where it belongs – people need to show up and not expect the government to save them. The apathy needs to end and people need to get involved more than once every four years. Voting is no longer enough. Voting is still very important but many don’t even do that much. Stop complaining and get involved.
