First off, I would like to extend my gratitude to Westwind Weekly News and the community for opening their arms and making me feel welcome.
Fresh out of college, I am extremely excited to start, what I hope to be, a long and successful career in the field of journalism.
I grew up in Antigonish, Nova Scotia before heading west at the age of 15 (not before acquiring a love for seafood).
Prior to going back to college I spent my twenties working various labour jobs.
After years of doing so, I realized I needed a change.
So I enrolled in the Digital Commuinications and Media program at Lethbridge College.
After two years of hard of work and determination everything paid off.
Graduation was sweet. Shortly after finishing up school I got married to a wonderful woman.
Like me, she is an aspiring journalist with a dream of working with a major television news network.
In case you were wondering, we met in the program at school.
As for my interests, I have many. Sports are very high on that list.
I may regret this decision later, but I will admit I am a huge Montreal Canadiens fan.
So, if there are any Canadiens fans in the community be sure to let me know.
Other teams I support are the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Raptors.
I also love to travel.
My sense of adventure has allowed me to see some of the best sights the world has to offer.
I have travelled the west coast of the United States various times along with numerous cities in Europe including Prague, Warsaw and Paris.
It is something I love and I have no plan on slowing down.
Westwind Weekly News is a another great adventure that has me excited.
Getting to meet new people and sharing their stories is something I am really looking forward to.
Our office is located downtown Magrath, feel free to pop by and say hello or if you have a story that needs to be told. See you out there.
