This last month and a half have been very busy for the Del Bonita 4-H Club.
We started off in April with the fish pond clean-up service project. It was a chilly and fun day to give back to the community. The next weekend we had our project tour day and judging day, which took us to every members’ house to see their project. Judging is when you take four items and put them in a 1-2-3-4 format. One being the best for what you’re using it for and giving each item a positive reason why you have chosen each item over the other. The beef kids had a trimming and bathing day with continued learning on animal nutrition — while the sheep kids had a weigh in, shearing and a showmanship clinic.
Our animal projects are getting ready for our mini-show tomorrow at the Magrath Ag Building. This is open to the public from 5-730 p.m. This show is an achievement day for the beef project and a practice run for the Show and Sale in Lethbridge June 7-8 at Exhibition Park.

May 4 was a busy morning, as we gathered early in the morning to clean Alberta’s highways in the Del Bonita area. Recently, a lot of members went to Taber for a learning day. It was valuable information to help us raise our projects. Cody and Logan Scheirlinck and Lucy, Ellie and Penny Woolf all competed with their projects in the Taber show and did very well.
