The Village of Coutts has received a grant of $6,900 from the Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta.
According to CFLSA, the funding will be used to remove old lighting fixtures in the Coutts Municipal Library and replace them with energy-efficient LEDs.
“This grant helps with funding to many organizations, and they really deserve recognition,” said Lori Rolfe, Chief Administrative Officer for the Village of Coutts.
Rolfe says that the village applied for consideration under the Communities Priorities Fund and received a call from a board member on December 4, 2023 telling them their application was successful. The money, Rolfe said, was then presented to the library board on December 11.
“The funds will cover converting the lighting in the library to LED lights,” said Rolfe. “It’s a project that’s been needed for a long time, however funding the project was always a holdback. We are very excited to be a recipient of this grant! The lighting upgrade will benefit all the library patrons and staff.”
