During the Town of Raymond Council meeting on August 5, Council and Administration discussed potentially changing the day of Council meetings.
“There has been some discussion among members of Council about potentially changing the date of our Council meeting from Tuesday to an alternative day,” said Town of Raymond Chief Administrative Officer Kurtis Pratt.
Pratt explained to Council that Mondays or Wednesdays have been discussed as alternate options.
“If that is something that Council wants to do, we would just have to have some motions to amend when Council holds their meetings,” said Pratt.
Those amendments, Pratt explained, would include alterations to procedural bylaws as well as a full review of said bylaws. Pratt also explained to Council that if they want to change the date, that they should make a motion to do so and then change the next few meeting dates one by one and then do an official change of date alongside a review of the procedural bylaws.
Following some discussion about the impacts of changing the meeting date, Council ultimately decided to wait until after the municipal election on October 20, 2025 to approach the subject again.
