Magrath nominations accepted until Sept. 22

Nominations for Magrath’s upcoming municipal election will be accepted until Sept. 22 at noon.

Town of Magrath Chief Administrative Officer James Suffredine says that the municipal election for the Town of Magrath will be held on Monday, October 20, with voting taking place at the Magrath Seniors Center. Opportunities for advance voting will be announced closer to the election date, Suffredine says.

“Elections are an opportunity for residents to help shape the future of Magrath and ensure the community has strong representatives for local decision-making,” said Suffredine.

Suffredine says that candidates who submit their nomination papers will be added to the list at http://www.magrath.ca/election. Nomination packages, Suffredine says, are available at the Town Office or online at http://www.magrath.ca/election and anyone who is eligible under Local Authorities Election Act (LAEA) is able to put their name forward. 

Suffredine says that all eligible voters are likewise encouraged to cast their ballot on Election Day to ensure the best candidates are chosen to guide the Town of Magrath for the next four years.

“Everyone’s voice matters,” said Suffredine. “Running for Council is a meaningful way to serve your community and make a difference in its future. Just casting your vote is equally important, it ensures the people who represent Magrath reflect the will of its residents. Every candidate and every vote counts.”
