Candidates
Nikole Norris
1) I will work well with council as I know how important it is to voice your own opinions and ideas but to also have an open mind and listening to others and understanding and respecting their opinions and ideas at the same time.
2) I feel our top infrastructure needs at this point is our aging and deteriorating village sewer lines. I feel a strong second for our priorities should also be maintaining our Village roads and sidewalks.
3) I feel there is always room for improvement and sometimes new minds and ideas and age demographic is necessary for growth and change.
4) I feel our biggest challenge right now is growth while still respecting our history and staying true to our small-town roots. We all need to put our heads together on ways to increase commercial property ideas and create a core that reflects our Village and brings business that will prosper and bring a service that our community needs.

1) I have worked on numerous boards and committees over the last 20 plus years. I know how to work effectively as a group and appreciate and value the opinions and views of board members I have worked with. I look forward to an opportunity to work collaboratively with council to continue in efforts to make this community a great place to live and raise a family.
2) The Village of Stirling does have an Infrastructure Master Plan in place that was completed in 2020. There are a number of areas identified in this plan that needs attention. A few have been completed but there are a number of high priority areas that need attention. I would like to see council review this plan and prioritize projects. Some of the ones I would like to see addressed is sidewalks and waste water in areas of greatest needs based on the Plan. I would also like to see some community engagement in setting the priority areas.
3) It is recognized that there are challenges that the Village of Stirling has given its proximity to larger urban centres. There has been some recent additions to commercial businesses which has been good to see however, I do believe that there is opportunity for some additional small businesses.
4) The aged infrastructure of some areas within the community is one of the largest challenges. Balancing these high priority infrastructure needs in connection with the level of property taxes collected will continue to be a concern for residents. I would hope to have more community engagement as we strive to address these challenges.
