The Tri-Community Childcare Society is calling on all of Southern Alberta and the rest of the province to come together in support of local families, as the organization celebrates being named one of only four national finalists for the Raise the Barn Winfield Grant—a Canada-wide competition that could bring a major funding boost to expand childcare services in the region.
To rally community spirit and raise awareness, the Society is hosting its annual “Bids & Beef” Gala on Saturday, November 15th, at the Elks Hall in Warner starting at 5:00 p.m. This exciting evening will feature great food, live and silent auctions, local entertainment, and a shared commitment to improving childcare access across rural Alberta.
Winning the Raise the Barn Grant depends on public voting which opens on November 12, and every vote counts. The Tri-Community Childcare Society is urging residents across Southern Alberta to get involved, spread the word, and help bring this national win home.
“This nomination is a reflection of what makes rural Alberta so special — when our communities face challenges, we don’t wait for someone else to fix them, we roll up our sleeves and do it together,” says Christine Doenz, Vice-President, Tri-Community Childcare Society. “Our families, farmers, nurses, doctors, teachers, and small businesses all have a stake in the future of our children. Winning this grant would mean more childcare spaces, more support for working parents, and a stronger foundation for the next generation growing up right here in rural Alberta. We hope everyone across Southern Alberta will stand with us, vote, and help us raise the barn together.”
This is the only project within Alberta that has been selected as a finalist for voting.
