Town of Raymond
Mosquito season is here, and the Town of Raymond is taking proactive steps to help keep the community comfortable and safe.
From May to September, Town crews monitor and treat known breeding areas to reduce nuisance mosquitoes and help lower the risk of West Nile virus.
The Town no longer fogs for mosquitoes because the product previously used for large-area fogging is no longer available in Canada. Instead, the municipality focuses on targeted larval control.
Residents can help by removing standing water, preventing stagnant water from collecting, and keeping grass cut regularly. Spraying on private property remains an option using residential-grade products or licensed applicators, but this is different from the Town’s former vehicle-based fogging program.
