The Scott Barton Municipal Excellence Award supports recent Raymond High School graduates pursuing post-secondary education in fields that could lead to a career in local government. Three $1,000 awards are available each year for students who demonstrate leadership, academic achievement, and a commitment to serving their community.

Applications close August 30, 2026.

Professional bull riding upcoming at Raymond Rodeo Grounds

Professional bull riding returns to the Raymond Rodeo Grounds on Wednesday, August 19.

Join us for an exciting evening of bull riding, steer riding, the wild pony race, and more. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., and the action begins at 6:30 p.m.

Don’t miss the bull riding Calcutta in support of the Raymond Hospital Auxiliary, the $300 side pot draw, and the VIP shark cage experience.

Raymond hosting Harvest Showdown this fall

Join us on September 25, 2026, for an evening of family fun, community pride, and local celebration at Comet Stadium.

Enjoy a free BBQ from 4:30 – 6 p.m. for the first 1,000 attendees, free face painting from the Broadway Dance Cheerleaders, followed by free admission to the Raymond Comets vs. Chinook High School football game from 6 – 8 p.m.

The 7 p.m. halftime show will feature the Broadway Dance Cheerleaders and the presentation of the Council Volunteer Appreciation Award, recognizing an outstanding community volunteer.

Fireworks will take place throughout the football game.
