Updated recycling centre hours begin Oct. 1

Starting Oct. 1, the Recycling Centre will be open daily from 6 a.m. – 10 p.m. instead of 24 hours. Automatic gates will operate according to these hours.

With curbside recycling now available, residents can recycle more materials right from home. The updated hours also help address security concerns and littering at the Centre.

Clean-Up Day on Sept. 28

Are you ready to clear out unwanted items? Clean-Up Day is Monday, Sept. 28.

On select fourth Mondays, Town crews collect large items that do not fit in regular garbage pick-up. To participate, sign up at the Town Office and pay the $25 fee by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25.

Taxes and utilities below
regional average

The Town’s 2026 comparison of 44 urban municipalities shows that Raymond’s combined municipal taxes and utilities are five per cent below the regional average for a typical single residential dwelling.

Water, wastewater, and total annual utilities all come in below the Southern Alberta average. Solid waste is the exception, reflecting the wide range of materials accepted at the Town’s transfer station.

“Raymond continues to deliver essential services at a competitive overall cost, while supporting a community where families can live, grow, and thrive,” reads a statement posted to the Town’s Facebook page.

treatment expansion nearing completion

Raymond’s largest infrastructure project to date is nearing completion.

The wastewater treatment expansion, which began construction in April 2024, is increasing the Town’s capacity to support future growth. The project includes upgrades to the lift station, new treatment and storage infrastructure, and additional wastewater treatment capacity.

Once complete, the expansion will help accommodate an estimated 3,318 additional residents, while land secured for future phases provides even more opportunity to grow.

This $10.4 million project is being funded by the Government of Canada, the Province of Alberta, and the Town of Raymond, and is being completed without borrowing.
