Magrath U15 team still unbeaten in CAHL regular season

Action on the ice heated up last weekend, as Magrath and Raymond teams were busy once again.

On Saturday, Magrath’s U9 Chiefs faced the Foremost Flyers and came away with a 4-3 victory in overtime. Scoring for the Chiefs was Liam Stanford with two goals, while Cooper Seward and Cody Beier had one goal each. Stanford scored the game winner in sudden-death overtime. Raylan Owens played a strong game in goal, which featured many timely saves.

In U11 play, Raymond fell 11-1 in a Saturday game against Irvine. Max Walburger had the lone Raymond goal, while Remington Jardine and Jordan Schmidt shared goaltending duties.

On Sunday, Nanton skated away with a 7-2 win over Raymond. Houston Hill and Klay Koopmans had the Raymond goals, as Cooper Rodeback and Stetson Nelson earned assists. Jardine and Schmidt once again split duties in goal.

On Friday, Magrath’s U11 team posted a 6-2 win in Picture Butte, thanks to a five-point effort (three goals, two assists) from Carter Juhasz. Weston Odland scored twice and Gibson Bates added one. Maxwell Harker added one assist. Tymen Allsop made 23 saves for the win.

Saturday’s action saw a rare 2-2 tie, as Magrath tied things up in the third period against Crowsnest Pass. Bates and Juhasz had the goals, as Allsop stopped 24 shots.

Raymond’s U13 team played a Sunday contest and fell 6-1 to Lethbridge. Tanner Wells scored for Raymond on a goal assisted by Lane Smith. Kalani Purcell made 29 saves in the Raymond goal.

Magrath is now 4-0-1 in the U15 Tier 3 Blue Division after a 1-0-1 weekend that started Friday with a 4-4 tie against Fort Macleod. Tason Heath had two goals in that game, while Ryder Harrison had a goal and an assist. Colton Olson and Lilly Rodeback had two assists each, while Nixon Barnett had one goal. Bronson Ripley and Cohen Brady Michel had one assist each. Ashton Jensen made 37 saves in net.

Saturday featured a 5-2 win over Medicine Hat, as Ripley and Cohen Brady Michel led the way with a goal and an assist each. Heath, Easton Fraser and Clayton Michel added one goal each. Barnett, Rodeback, Colton Olson, Nixon Roe, Beau Beier and Dayson Loose all had one assist each. Kohlman Blackmore picked up the win thanks to 26 saves.

In U18, Magrath was idle last weekend but the team will have two games this weekend, as Magrath visits Vulcan on Saturday and will host Okotoks on Sunday for a 4:30 p.m. contest.
