Regular season wrapping up for CAHL teams

The playoffs are just around the corner for teams in the Central Alberta Hockey League.

Last weekend, regular season action continued as Raymond’s U 11 team took a tight 7-6 decision over Vauxhall.

Houston Hill led the way with two goals, Klay Koopmans had a goal and an assist and Track Nelson had two helpers. Cooper Rodeback, Max Walburger and Stetson Nelson also had goals. Jesse Wilde had an assist. JOrdan Schmidt and Remington Jardine split duties in goal.

The U11 team out of Magrath earned a 5-1 win Friday over Vulcan. Payke Bates had two goals and one assist and Brody Koci had a goal and an assist. Chase Ririe, Gibson Bates, Carter Juhasz and Braeden Stanford also scored. Grayson Owens and Kashton Johnson had one assist each. Tymen Allsop made 22 saves for the win.

Saturday, Magrath skated to a 6-3 victory over Crowsnest Pass, as Gibson Bates had three goals and two assists. Ririe added two assists and Juhasz, Maxwell Harker and Payke Bates also scored. Allsop picked up another win in goal.

Raymond’s U13 team took a 4-1 win over Lethbridge on Saturday. Tanner Wells had two assists and Trigger Heggie and Kylan Blackwater each had one goal. Carter Harris and Jack Patrick Salmon added assists. Kalani Purcell made 35 saves to pick up the win.

On Sunday, Raymond fell 6-3 to Medicine Hat. Harris and Lane Smith had goals in the contest, as Heggie, Checotah Many Grey Horses and Eddie Little Shields had assists. Purcell made 24 saves for Raymond.

Magrath’s U15 squad took out Picture Butte by a score of 4-1 on Friday, as Easton Fraser had a goal and an assist and Brecklyn Bates had two assists. Nixon Barnett, Bronson Ripley and Tason Heath had the other goals. Ryder Harrison, Clayton Michel and Lilly Rodeback added assists. Ashton Jensen took the win in goal.

On Saturday, Magrath fell 7-1 to Fort Macleod. Fraser had the goal, assisted by Ripley. Kohlman Blackmore faced 41 shots in goal.

In U18 play, Magrath had two big weekend wins, which started Saturday in a 7-1 thrashing of Okotoks. Blake Roe had three goals and an assist and Gage Nelson had a goal and two assists. Cooper Godlonton had a goal and an assist, while Mason Mehew and Rushton Ripley also scored. Assists came off the sticks of Gunner Sloan and Paislee Loose. Conner Schneyder made 28 saves and took the win.

On Sunday, Magrath posted a 7-2 win over Okotoks. Sloan had two goals, while Roe, Merek Neilson, Rigin Smith, Beckham Sugai and Knox Tame all added a goal each. Ripley, Clay Christensen and Joseph Noad had assists. David Powell Ford Jr. made 42 saves to earn the victory.
