The Raymond bantam Comets have finished the regular season in a familiar position – first place.
Last weekend, Raymond capped off the 2025 slate with a decisive 49-7 win over the Lethbridge Coyotes.
“The game against the Coyotes went well,” said Comets coach Jimmy Ralph. “We made some improvements and fixed mistakes from our previous game to end our regular season finishing first.”
Crew Carrell and Cohen Michel stood out as playmakers with a handful of touchdowns for the Comets, as the Raymond offense was explosive as usual.
Raymond will now have a little time off, as the bantams prepare for the team’s next opponent.
“We now have a bye week next week and will play the winner of Chinook and Cardston for the first round of playoffs,” said Ralph.
The coach added even though his team finished the regular season on top, there is more work to do for a group that has high expectations heading into the playoffs.
“We are a skilled team with some great athletes but will have to show more toughness if we want to go all the way and repeat as provincial champions,” said Ralph. “We have not played to our potential yet but we have addressed where we need to improve, so that’s what we will work towards as we prepare for playoffs.”
