Magrath U18 team continues to lead division with 9-1 record

With the holiday season in the rearview mirror, local teams were back on the ice last weekend in Central Alberta Hockey League competition.

On Saturday, Magrath and Raymond battled in U11 action, as Magrath took a 7-6 victory.

Cody Beier scored four times for Magrath, while Liam Standford had a goal and two assists. Cooper Seward and Nathan Wilde also scored. Landon Todd Sedgeley Perks picked up a helper. Raylan Owens made 26 saves in goal to pick up the win.

Jake Walburger and Beckett Holt led Raymond, as each player had two goals and one assist. Clay Nelson also scored twice.

Scarlett Hofer made 29 stops in goal for Raymond.

On Sunday, Raymond rebounded with a 9-5 win over Taber, as Holt had five points with three goals and two assists. Nelson added four goals.

Walburger and John Baldry each tickled the twine once.

Everett Manning got the win in net, with a 17-save performance.

In U13 play, Magrath and Raymond met on Friday, as Magrath emerged with an 8-5 win.

Gibson Bates led the victorious side with four goals, as Kashton Johnson had two goals and one assist. Carter Juhasz had a goal and two assists. Kacey Blackmore assisted on two Magrath markers, while Andrew Woolf had one assist.

Tymen Allsop made 35 saves in net. Brixden Manning had a goal and an assist for Raymond, while Cooper Rodeback, Clay Nelson, Karl Russell Jr. and Kacie Rodeback all added one goal each.

Jordan Schmidt made 26 stops in goal for Raymond.

Raymond also earned a 4-3 win over Taber on Saturday, as Cooper Rodeback recorded a hat trick to lead the way. Michael Bevans also scored, while Russell Jr. and Kacie Rodeback added one assist each.

Schmidt picked up the win with 22 saves.

Raymond’s U15 squad defeated Foremost on Saturday by a score of 6-4, as Hayes Hill and Cooper Lutz led the way. Each player had a goal and an assist. Trigger Heggie, Levi Zobell, Pete Schneyder and Hudson Turchyn also scored, while single assists were credited to Kraden Heath, Chase Ririe and Jaxton Rodeback.

Dayton Black Water made 26 saves for the win.

Magrath continues to lead its U18 division with an 9-1 record after a 10-2 win over Picture Butte.

Adam Chipman had two goals and three assists and Logan Jensen added three helpers. Ty Godlonton and Easton Fraser had two goals each, while Erik Quapp had a goal and an assist. Levi Harker and Dayson Loose had two assists each, and Cooper Godlonton, Beau Beier and Tason Heath all scored one goal each. Single helpers were credited to Nixon Barnett and Colton Olson.

Evan Bezooyen made eight saves in the game to earn the victory.
