Chase Wells-Creighton (second year, Exercise Science, Standoff) of the women’s basketball team continued to set the standard with her leadership and presence on the court, despite a narrow loss in the Kodiaks’ return from winter break. Wells-Creighton led the team in minutes played, logging 36 minutes and anchoring the lineup with her toughness and consistency at both ends of the floor. She finished the game with 12 points and 12 rebounds, while also contributing three assists, four steals, and a block. Her all-around impact, steady composure, and relentless effort highlighted her value to the Kodiaks and reinforced her leadership as the team enters the second half of the season.
West James (second year, Plumber Apprenticeship, Raymond) of the men’s basketball team stepped up when his number was called, delivering a breakout performance in the Kodiaks’ return from winter break and the opening game of the second half of the season. His efforts powered a key win over the St. Mary’s University Lightning. James recorded career highs in the game, finishing with 15 points in 25 minutes while shooting an efficient 5-of-8 from the field and 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. He also added three rebounds, two assists, and a steal, with his confidence, composure, and timely shot-making proving pivotal in the Kodiaks’ strong first push through the back half of the season.
