The Raymond Comets rolled to a big win Friday night at home, as the Chinook Coyotes came to town.
It was over early, as Raymond raced out to an early 40-0 lead, thanks to a series of big plays on both sides of the ball.
Things unraveled quickly for the visitors, as Khyrum Boehme returned the opening kickoff for a major, to put the home side up 6-0 with 11:44 left in the opening quarter.
Thomas Walburger made it 13-0 with a 24-yard touchdown run with 10:10 left on the clock.
Soon after, Joe Wilde broke through for a 40-yard score on the ground, as Raymond extended the lead to 20-0.
A bug defensive play, with 4:51 left on the clock, made it 27-0, as Cashe Beazer intercepted a Coyotes pass and brought it back to the house.
Beazer wasn’t done there, as quarterback Jace Ralph hit him for a 23-yard touchdown pass with 2:37 left on the clock, as the Comets led 34-0.
On the last play of the first quarter, Ralph tossed for another major, as this time, he hit Kasen Arcus for a 37-yard score. That extended the Raymond advantage to 40-0.
Raymond added another third-quarter touchdown to wrap up the contest.
This week, the Comets prepare for a southern Alberta showdown, as Raymond will travel to Cardston for a Thursday-night battle against the Cougars, set for 6 p.m.
In the Week 4 Football Alberta rankings, Raymond sits at No. 3 in 5A with a 3-1 record, while Cardston holds down the No. 4 spot in 4A with a 3-0 record.
