At its April 5 regular council meeting, the Village of Stirling Council presented STARS with a cheque for $1,164. The donation was in response to a municipal engagement campaign by STARS last fall encouraging municipalities to contribute $1 per capita.
“Rural communities depend on the critical, life-saving care that STARS can provide when every second counts,” noted Mayor Trevor Lewington. “STARS has responded to motor vehicle collisions on highways near our community and provides rapid transfers from the Raymond Care Centre that is the closest emergency room for our residents.”
“Contributions to STARS from our municipal partners help keep our helicopters in the air ensuring critical medical care is available when and where rural Albertans need it most,” commented Martin Ebel, donor relations and development officer with STARS.
STARS missions in the County of Warner in 2021/2022 included one to the Town of Milk River and one to the Town of Raymond.
