On August 5, Town of Raymond Council resumed a public hearing for Bylaw 1148-25 – Stampede Industrial Park Area Structure Plan.

The hearing for Bylaw 1148-25 was recessed on July 15, 2025 by request of Town of Raymond Development Officer Tyler Nelson due to the fact that Administration was still awaiting the return of some referral agency comments. A motion was subsequently made to close the public hearing and carried.

At the original hearing, Nelson explained to Council that Bylaw No. 1148-25: Stampede Industrial Park Area Structure Plan is a plan which will enable Council to adopt an Area Structure Plan for future development of the industrial park and rodeo grounds. First reading for the bylaw took place at the June 3, 2025 meeting of Council.

During the resumed hearing, Nelson explained that all feedback was received from referral agencies except for comments from Alberta Transportation, as Alberta Transportation is asking for particulars that are not yet available, but that are in the process of being acquired from the engineer involved with the project.

Due to that information, Nelson requested a motion for an adjournment on the Public Hearing for Bylaw 1148-25 until September 2, 2025 with the hope that the needed information will be available by then.

Councilor Kindt subsequently made a motion that the Public Hearing for Bylaw 1148-25 be adjourned until September 2, 2025. The motion was carried.

Councillor Sieben then made a motion to close the Public Hearing for Bylaw 1148-25 and the motion was carried.
